When I first got to Seattle seven years ago, I was introduced (via Facebook) to Dave Clapper . Dave invited me to do a rehearsal for a Harold Team he was on. It was the first thing I did improv wise in my new city and directly led to many new friendships and improv opportunities here. Dave then invited me to do an improvised play he was producing and, that is still one of the absolute BEST improv shows I have ever done.
When none of the improv theaters in Seattle wanted to cast me, Dave never let me sit by the sidelines. He invited me to Duo’s, he invited me to shows. When he met Kevin, they were fast friends, which led to Mamet’s Basement. After Kevin passed, Dave insisted that we carry on. And even when I was at my lowest about loosing Kevin, Dave kept the ball rolling. Which led to us taking the stage with Tony Beeman and the show was incredibly healing for me. That led to both of us auditioning and getting cast at Unexpected Productions.
Dave, if I have never expressed this, I truly appreciate you. I’m glad you never gave up on me, even when I had given up on performing.
I love you brother and I’m proud to share stage with you in the future.
